The proposed device is designed to filter and stabilize the mains voltage, as well as protecting the connected load from overvoltage.

Regulator consists of the following building blocks:

1. Microcontroller-based control unit

2. Power switches (thyristors)

3. Power autotransformer with adjustable taps

4. Filter to suppress power surges and high-frequency interference (built using inductors, capacitors and a varistor)

5. Multiple Outlet Power Strip. The output of the regulator is connected to the multiple outlet power strip, although a wall-mountable version of the regulator may have only one outlet.

The front panel of the device includes:

· Mode of operation switch (Stabilization/Disabled/Bypassed).

· Digital voltmeter.
